The art of street painting dates back to 16th century Italy, when artists would use their chalks to transform the cobblestones into makeshift canvases. One of South Floridas signature events, the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival pays homage to this heritage by drawing more than 600 artists directly onto the asphalt surface of the street. Held over two days, theres music on a main stage, festival food courts and bistros, and plenty more. Admission is free and there's also a complimentary Tri Rail shuttle service between Lake Worth station and the festival venue.
