The Japanese Street Festival will be held on April 4, 2020. There are live musical and dance performances, martial art demonstrations, interactive cultural activities, food and more.

First held in 1961, the Sakura Matsuri Japanese Street Festival is now the largest one-day exhibition of Japanese culture in the United States. The Sakura Matsuri is held each spring as the grand finale of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. On good weather days, it has drawn over 40,000 visitors in 7 hours.

Since 2018, the Sakura Matsuri has been held on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW between 3rd to 7th Streets on the same day of the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade.

The Sakura Matsuri is a family-friendly festival. Every year, over 100 vendors and performers become part of the festival and share Japanese culture, performance, and food with attendants!
