The festival attracts a lot of people with craft and food vendors.
The week-long event will feature livestock judging, go-kart racing, vendors, wood carving, acrobatic shows, and amusement rides.
The Statesville Kiwanis Club hosts the fair, which takes place at 630 N. Main St. in Troutman. Gates will open at 5 p.m. Friday and the fair will run through Sept. 7.
Iredell County is characterized by its agricultural identity. The county produces more milk than any other county in the state.
The fair is a time to celebrate the countys heritage. The majority of people who show animals at the fair are children who are a part of Future Farmers of America chapters. This is the second year the fair will include a special-abilities show, which pairs a special-needs adult or child with another child showing animals at the fair.
