On August 16, 17 and 18, Blue Earth will welcome a host of carvers and quilters in the 30th Annual Woodcarvers and Quilt EXPO to be held in Unity Hall at Blue Earth Area High School. Hours of the EXPO are 4-8 pm on Friday, 10 am-5 pm on Saturday, and noon-4 pm on Sunday. Adult admission is only $4; children under 12 are admitted free. A three day pass is $6. An Opening Night reception is scheduled for Friday from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm with complimentary beverage and snacks for all attendees.

The featured Quilter for this year's EXPO is Linda Bakken of Blue Earth. She is well known for her Civil War quilts as well as being one of our local wool work experts. Special guest Darlene Zimmerman (The Feedsack Lady) will present a lecture and trunk show at 2:00 pm on Saturday. This trunk show is generously sponsored by Michele's Sewing, Heartland Embroidery and Bittersweet Mercantile. A "Jelly Roll-er Derby" will also be offered as Jude Edling coordinates a contest of quilt building speed on Friday night. For more information please contact Jude Edling at (***) ***-****. Local quilters will be presenting ongoing demonstrations throughout the EXPO.
