The Texas State Championship Fiddler's Frolics, founded in 1971, is the largest fiddlers' contest in the world, attracting the best fiddlers in the US and around the globe. The event also features entertainment including guitar and banjo pickin, live bluegrass, Cajun and country music, jam sessions, carnival and arts & crafts. Cooking teams come together to compete in the barbeque, sausage and bean cookoffs, also held during the event.
