Now in its 9th year, SANDING OVATIONS is Treasure Island's Master Cup Sand Sculpting Competition and Music Festival, a four day competition of ten sand sculpting masters from throughout North America, Europe and Asia, who create astonishing works of art using nothing but sand, water and lots of their own imagination. Sanding Ovations is a free event held on the weekend before Thanksgiving at the Sand Sculpture Capital of Florida, Treasure Island. Sanding Ovations is internationally known, attracting thousands of visitors to the
charming island to celebrate the world class sand sculptures. After almost a decade, Sanding Ovations has clearly cemented its place amongst the worlds top international sand sculpting events.
Lets just say that these giant sand sculptures will no doubt capture your imagination. The sand sculptures are masterpieces. Kids are in awe and parents are
captivated by the pure mastery exhibited by the artists. The competition is intense and the prizes are grand. Last year there was over $12,000 in cash prizes
awarded to the winners. Sanding Ovations is a free family friendly event that truly has something to offer for everyone. The sand sculpting is the emphasis,
but the fresh seafood, arts and crafts and live music help make the weekend even more special. This is a world-class event in a charming, world-class small beach town setting.
