Description: | From San Joaquin Asparagus Festival Website: Join us April 21-23, 2017 for the BIGGEST Asparagus Festival in the West! With a fantastic lineup of events and entertainment, the festival is sure to be an enjoyable time for the entire family!
San Joaquin Asparagus Festival draws a considerable amount of visitors in the spring that come together to enjoy the fun, savor the food, and catch up with old friends, all while making new friends and memories!
In 2017, we are looking to bring in more non-profit groups to help with the festival, along with more asparagus dishes in a centralized location, fresh asparagus available at all entrances/exits, and more atm machines. The parking will be organized by a professional parking team to handle all the traffic coming into the venue as well as more bus routes and shuttles for the community. We anticipate over 85,000 people for 2017 and keeping the festival alive once again.
Volunteer with us or become a sponsor of the San Joaquin Asparagus Festival! Reach out to us for more information and join in the fun!
San Joaquin Asparagus Festival offers everything from food to fun. Bring your family and friends and enjoy Asparagus Alley, Live Entertainment, Health & Wellness Fair, Countless Vendors, Craft Beer and Wine Pavilion, Recipe Contest, Kids Zone with carnival rides and games, Country Farm Animals and so much more!
This year we have added several more Asparagus related dishes to our already outstanding Deep Fried Asparagus and Asparagus Ice Cream, such as, Asparagus Lumpia, Pulled Pork Sandwich with Asparagus Slaw, Asparagus Chicken Bowl, Asparagus Corn Dogs & Polish Corn Dogs, Asparagus Chili Cheese Fries, Asparagus Nachos, Asparagus Burritos, Smoked Asparagus Soup, Roasted Asparagus, Bacon Wrapped Asparagus and more! These dishes are located in the Asparagus Plaza, outside of Asparagus Alley, see map on activities page.
In the course of the 2016 festival, Asparagus Alley dished out over 10 tons of California grown asparagus between the deep fried asparagus and the asparagus ice cream. The remaining asparagus and parmesan cheese in 2015 was donated to local charities; Salvation Army in Lodi, Bread of Life, Haven of Peace, Recovery Hiuse, Servants of Christ, Biggs Tract Community Center, Emergency Food Bank, Circle of Friends, Pinsl of Stockton, Victory after school program and St. Marys Food Bank. The Nocetis gave back over $300,000 to non-profit groups that volunteered and to the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds since 2015.
Thanks to everyone for a successful event!
