| Description: | From Rising Sun Quiltfest Website: The Ohio County Historical Society and The Sunshine Stichers Stitchers are pleased to organize and host the annual Rising SunQuiltFest. The QuiltFest is located in the Rising Sun History Museum in Rising Sun, Indiana.
Originally, long time residents, Betty Ann and Lloyd Pavy, hosted an annual quilt show in their quilt and furniture store in Rising Sun. When the Pavy's retired, the Ohio County Historical Society continued this annual tradition by hosting the quilt show.
In 2002, Rising Sun QuiltFest initially exhibited 35 quilts from the community and the Historical Society collection. By 2008 and 2009, when the show moved to the Rising Sun Senior Citizen and Community Building, 98 quilts were exhibited. Additionally, cash prizes were instituted; and the show included vendors, classes, art quilts and art items.
