From Winter Festival Website:
February 18-19, 2017
With the New Year close at hand, it's time to start thinking about the 2017 Winter Festival. This year we will be celebrating with a theme. The popular Ice Carving Contest, sponsored by BMO Harris Bank, will set the stage along Cedarburg's main street, where 300 pound blocks of ice will be transformed into glistening blocks of frozen art!
On the opposite end of town, with golf clubs in hand, the Cedarburg Lions will tee-off in the snow at the annual IceBurg Open Golf Tournament in Cedar Creek Park.
On Saturday, Fest-goers can shake off the cold at the Individual Chili Contest. being held in the Cedarburg Community Center. "Celebrity" judges will be selecting first, second and third place winners!
Moving back to Saturday is the Restaurant Chili Contest serving up the ultimate chili sampler platter. Patrons vote for their favorite restaurant chili in a blind taste test. Last Winter Festival, Atlas BBQ from Grafton took home the bragging rights for the best chili. See who will win it this year!
Take a moment and stop to watch the Winter Festivals Grand Parade with themed bed racing teams as well as fire trucks, costumed characters, and other fun participants marching to the popular and hilarious Costumed Bed Races on Ice Competition at Mill Pond.
At the Cedar Creek Settlement on the north end of downtown, you'll have two chances to enjoy live music on both Saturday and Sunday. The Settlement is the place to a stop and visit the Cedar Creek Winery to purchase a bottle of your favorite wine to take home. The Settlement is home to more than 25 shops and offers a unique shopping experience. They sell items from clothing and jewelry to local foods and art. The Settlement is open all day, both days during Winter Festival.
Don't miss our 5th Annual Cool Notes Musical Talent Competition, being held at the Cedarburg Cultural Center where we will discover some very talented people. Vocalists and instrumentalists are showcased and sing their hearts out hoping to walk away with cash prizes and time on the Strawberry Festival main stage. Celebrity judges select the winners of the event.
Saturday evening is for the 21 and over crowd at the Cool Brew and Tunes. Adults are welcomed for an evening of craft beers, wine and appetizers from local restaurants along with live music. Click here for more information.
Come down on Sunday for an old fashion brat cook-off and then a rousing game of dodgeball at the 2nd Annual Dodgeball Tournament sponsored by Dad's Club of Thorson Elementary School. Located at the Community Center at W63 N641 Washington Avenue. See more information on the "I love a contest" page.
