| Description: | New England's largest and oldest quilt event celebrates its 40th year with some of the best quilts, both contemporary and antique. Hundreds of eye-popping quilts delight thousands of visitors each year with a cross-section of the quiltmaker's art. Opening the Festival is the always-festive Champagne and Chocolate Preview on Thursday evening, when attendees are the first to see the exhibits and shop the bustling merchants mall of 90 vendors from across the nation. Scheduled throughout the weekend are quilt appraisals, Textile Detectives, free gallery talks by exhibit curators, and free vendor demonstrations.
