An Open Invitation to California Artists!

2014 marks the 21st year of the Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts Competition and Exhibitiion organized and presented by Madera County Arts Council.

This juried show of agriculturally themed artwork by California artists is open for submission beginning April 1, 2014 and welcomes entries through August 15, 2014. The competition culminates with the opening reception and awards presentations on October 1 at Circle Gallery in Madera. The exhibition runs through the end of November, 2014. A maximum of 100 works of art will be accepted for the final competition and exhibition.

Artwork is submitted by categories developed to encompass the broad range of California agriculture. Categories are: Dairy, Livestock & Poultry; Farm Machinery & Structures; Fruits & Nuts; Irrigation, Row & Field Crops; Vegetables & Vines; Promegranate Festival of Madera County; and Celebrating Agriculture--The Human Factor.

The 2014 show will be a mixed media exhibition showcasing original artwork in media including: paints, drawings, sculpture, fiber arts and photography. All media will be judged together in each category. Preliminary jurying and final judging will be completed by teams of professional artists chosen specifically for this competition.

Cash awards totaling $5000 and up are generously supported by the agricultural industry and art patrons of central California. The 2014 Awards will include: Best of Show; First and Second Overall Show Awards; First and Second Awards in each of the seven categories; as well as special recognition awards.
