The 2014 Clay County Agricultural Fair is now history. Our 28th Annual Fair was a huge success. We set an all-time record attendance. This years attendance was 109, 868, + 6.28% over last year. The previous attendance record for the fair was set at 106,789 in 2011. The fair goal for this year was 110,000. We almost made it, only short by 132.

The fair enjoyed good weather every day. The weather the last three days of the fair was perfect. Attendance was down the first Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday due to threating weather in the area. However, the fairgrounds only had rain late Monday night and Tuesday prior to opening.

Attendance of 22,599 on the last day almost matched the single day record of 23,199 set in 2013. This was a really good day considering all the other activities in the metro area.

We want to thank our thousands of dedicated volunteers, who shared their time and talents to serve our guests. Their pride and passion are the foundation of our fair. In addition, our Sponsor and Media Partners provide financial and service support that are vital to our success. Their support and presence at the fair is exceptional and greatly appreciated. We are truly blessed to have such a great team. Their work and support has earned us a great reputation as a Family A*Fair!

Our 4-H/FFA Youth Livestock Sale was also very successful. The total sale produced a $223,325 for our 4-H/FFA participants. This also was a new record.

We enjoyed visits from several other fairs including the State Fair of Virginia and Columbia County, Pasco County, Osceola County, Miami-Dade County, Volusia County and Duval County, FL. In addition the National Independent Concessionaires Association Board of Directors and the State FFA Officers attended. Post visit feedback was very complementary. This was a real tribute to our volunteers. They are passionate people who are the backbone of our success. We are grateful for their dedicated service.
