Description:

From Washington Craft Show Website:

The Washington Craft Show is proud to present 190 of the nation's top contemporary craft artists in a premier showcase that is nationally recognized for presenting masterful work. The artists invited to participate must first submit their work to a professional panel of jurors and all work is required to be designed and made in artists' studios across America.

The Washington Craft Show takes place annually at the state-of-the-art Walter E. Washington Convention Center located in the heart of Washington, DC.

The show is consistently rated as one of the best things to do in DC, and once you arrive, you will see why. Visitors to the show can expect to find hand-crafted works of art in a dozen different categories including: Basketry, Ceramics, Decorative and Wearable Textiles, Furniture, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metal, Mixed Media, Paper, and Wood.

Weekend events this year include informative discussions by leaders in the field of American Contemporary Craft, including Elizabeth Broun, Ph.D., Director of the Smithsonian American Art Museum; Jennifer Sergent, former editor of Washington Spaces Magazine and HGTV, and founder of DC by Design blog; and wearable art maker Amy Nguyen. Fashion shows, Friday and Saturday, will highlight the work of nearly three-dozen of the fashion designers and jewelry artists who will be with us.

If you're in the DC area, or your travel plans include a visit to the nation's capital, be sure to make time for this amazing event.
