| Description: | The Central Maine Egg Festival, Kiwanis Karnival and The Central Maine Everything that Flies Fly In Press Release July 17th â July 21st The Central Maine Egg Festival will coincide with the Kiwanis Karnival (July 19th â 21st) and the Great Central Maine Everything that Flies Fly In (July 21st) This is the 40th Anniversary of the Egg Festival. Originally the event was held in celebration of the brown egg industry in the area. Today the event still allows for the community to celebrate and for the non-profits involved to raise some much needed funds. There will be an amazing amount of events all in one place happening throughout the week! There will truly be something for kids of all ages! Location: Pittsfield, Maine Dates: July 17th â 21st (The Egg Festival Pageant will be held on July 15th) A Sample of the events: Street Dance Egg âLympics Sidewalk Art Quiche and Cheesecake Contest Kiddie Parade The Famous Big Parade Crafters Tent Young Eagles Flights Musical Entertainment Karnival Rides and Games Scholarship Pageant Egg Scramble 5K Run Walk Food, Food, Food Fireworks Of course there will be the frying pan that became part of the festival in 1973. The pan weighs in at over 300 pounds and is 10 feet in diameter. The Historical Depot will be open and showcase the previous winners of the Largest Egg Contest which has not been held in the past few years for various reasons.
