Location Palatka
Dates November 17, 2012 - November 18, 2012
Description: The third annual ST. JOHNS RIVER BLUES FESTIVAL to be held November 17&18, 2011 in Palatka will certainly follow the success of our first two years and more. Our strong core group of volunteers, including business and government leaders as well as successful festival planners with valuable experience, planned and operated the first two events without any admission fees to the general public, with all bills paid, start-up money in the bank AND presented St Johns River State College with one thousand dollar scholarship each year to aspiring Putnam County fine and performing arts students. This year’s festival will again feature 14 area blues bands in a competition format vying for fame and insuring regional interest as well as headliners TBA. St Johns Ave will be full of vendors from 3rd Street to 8th Street with two main stages, one at the Court House on the 400 block and another in the Prosperity Bank parking lot in the 600 block. St. Johns River Blues Festival, Inc. is a Florida Not For Profit Corporation which again will meet the goal of providing scholarship funding to Putnam County Fine and Performing Arts Students, particularly those attending Florida School of the Arts here in Palatka. Our festival will "promote tourism, economic stimulation and fine and performing artists through partnership of business and community through the celebration of the diversity of our Southern Blues heritage”.
