Central Maine Egg Festival
July 17-21, 2012

The Central Maine Egg Festival celebrates the brown egg industry and is held annually, ending on the fourth Saturday of July in Manson Park. There is a parade, scholarship pageant, Early Bird Breakfast, chicken barbeque, street dance, Egglympics, craft fair and usually fireworks on Saturday. Also on Saturday, enjoy fun rides at the Kiwanis Karnival. Do not forget to see the worlds largest frying pan!

Founded in 1973, the Festival was designed to celebrate the egg industry in central Maine and complement the already popular Kiwanis Karnival. Though the egg industry has all but left the region, the Festival remains strong even after 39 years. Now the Festival prides itself in providing a venue for area non-profit groups to come together and make their causes known to visitors who come to enjoy this family friendly festival.

The town of Pittsfield is home to the Festival. A quiet community of less than 5,000 people, Pittsfield welcomes the thousands of visitors each July. A street dance, egglympics, window painting, and a bike rodeo are just a few of the scheduled events during the week leading to the Big Day.

This years Festival theme is Home Town Heroes and we hope you will come and celebrate your home town heroes with us.
